Event Times:

5:00-6:30:            Team packet pickup, company gathering
6:30-7:30:            5k run/walk within the park.
7:30-9:00:            Post-race party & awards

Event Staging:

The pre-race activities (packet and tee shirt pick-up, race night registration, company gathering etc) and post-race party will take place at the adjoining picnic shelters and on the surrounding grass at the Pirate Ship Playground section of park which is near the skating pavillion and tennis courts.

Race Course:

The 5k run/walk will be an “out and back” on the paved run/walk path which runs alongside the Anacostia River. The start/finish line will be right across the street from the event staging area.

Party and Catering

The post-race party will feature free beverages, free pizza, free ziti and other goodies. For companies that want to do something a bit more elaborate on the food and beverage side, you are welcome to cater your own company picnic. We will provide plenty of comfortable banquet & picnic table seating for your entire team. Our D.J will be playing music from event start to finish. Our photographer will be taking team and individual photos which of course are free. Awards at 8 p.m for largest team, team with best tee shirt and fastest teams/individuals.

Getting There:

By Car: Main parking will be at the playground lot and on Anacostia Park Drive. Additional parking down the block at the tennis courts.

By Bus: U2, V7 AND V9 Lines.

By Train: Anacostia Metro Station Green Line or Potomac Avenue Metro Station Orange/Blue Line. (about a 1 mile walk)

Registration Fee:

$47 per team member.

On-Line Registration Deadline:

Friday June 13^th at 5 p.m

Team Payment Deadline:

Tuesday June 17^th at 5pm

Race Day Registration:

Although discouraged (please sign up in advance) race night registration is available.
