Event Staging:

The pre-race activities (packet and t-shirt pick-up, race night registration, company gathering etc) and post-race party will take place at Gypsy Sally’s, a music club located in the heart of Georgetown which backs on to the section of the C&O Canal Tow Path by the Alexandria Aqueduct Bridge where the 5k is being staged. Plenty of comfortable seating will be available inside of the restaurant.

Race Course:

The race will take place on the section of the C&O Canal Tow Path which is literally right behind Gypsy Sally’s, a 25 or so yard walk at the most. The 5k is an out and back on packed gravel and dirt with the start/finish line very close to the Alexandria Aqueduct Bridge.

Party and Catering

The post-race party, hosted by the restaurant staff at Gypsy Sally’s, will take place inside of the club. We will provide every participant with a free domestic beer as part of their registration fee with a wide variety of microbrewed beers, wine and mixed drinks available for purchase at the bar. With regards to food purchases, there will be two options. Companies will be able to either pre-purchase food vouchers or simply have race night table service through the club’s wait staff. Reserved table seating will be available for all as well as bar seating. The race night menu will be available soon. Our DJ will be playing music from event start to finish. Our photographer will be taking team and individual photos which are free for all. Awards at 8:00-8:15 for the fastest teams and individuals.

Parking:

Plenty of street parking is available near Gypsy Sally’s with lot parking (Constitution Parking is recommended) nearby as well. For those arriving by public transportation, it’s about a 15 minute walk from the Foggy Bottom metro station.

Team Payment Deadline:

Friday June 8th at 5pm

Race Day Registration:

Any team member who misses the on-line registration deadline can show up on race night and join his or her team as a race night registrant.All others can also register on race night. All race night entrants unaffiliated with a team can sign up as a guest of the Corporate FunRun Team, thus, all runners are welcome. T-shirts are not guaranteed to race night registrants.
